Welcome to May. We’re super excited to be out and about around town taking part in lots of beery events this month. We’ve had some beautiful days in April and our hope is that the mosquitos will stay away as we treat ourselves to local lagers and artisanal goods in our funky and fair city.

Saturday, May 10th. 12-5pm: WOMXN’S BREW CULTURE CLUB goes to the Maryland Craft Beer Festival in Frederick MD. Join the WBCC and the Baltimore Branch for a group outing to this yearly beer event. We look forward to this event held at Carroll Creek Linear Park presented by Visit Frederick! Festival entry includes beer samples from DOZENS OF MARYLAND BREWERIES (including a few breweries not yet open to the public!) pouring more than 200 unique beers, all brewed in Maryland. In addition, there will be live music and a tasty selection of local food and craft vendors throughout the festival. We’ve been offered 50% off tickets for our WBCC group to this event courtesy of BAM and Cultivate & Craft. Friday, May 16th. 630-9pm May Beer Share at DC Brau: We’re back at DC Brau this month, (it’s been a little while) so come join us for our monthly beer share. As always, be respectful, buy beer from DC Brau, support the brewery and staff, don’t drink and drive, and have a great time! RSVP if you plan to attend.

Wednesday, May 21st. 6:30-9pm Capital Trivia x DC Beer @ Other Half Brewing, Ivy City: Come party with Jordan, listen to good music, enjoy some hazies, and play trivia. It’s seriously fun.

Beer of the Month at The Brew Shop in Arlington: Midwest Condensation, Czech-style Pale Lager, 3.8%. “As the beer grows on the palate, the malt and hops come out more.” Mike Stein wrote an entire piece on this very special brew, so if you’re intrigued (which you should be) read all about it. For those who love craft beer & kicking butt! Sat. May 24th SilverBranch’s Kolschfest is back! Get ready for Kölschfest again! Indulge in freshly poured, light, and fruity beer as well as brats on the grill. You can purchase tokens in the taproom in exchange for Kölsch!

Sat. May 31st 1-6pm (D)rafts and (C)rafts is back for its third year and combines dozens of local craft breweries and artisan makers. This year is at the DC Brau brewhouse & biergarten!

Sat. June 7th Wheatland Spring’s Yearly (and amazing) Land Beer Fest… it’s in June, but hey, better plan!
